# INIT child collection (K1256–K1260) INIT tracks a bounded set of child identities. Duplicate or zero PIDs are rejected. Exit observation marks a tracked child ready. Collection chooses the first ready child in registration order and asks a wait adapter to reap it. A wait error leaves the child identity owned and ready for retry. Successful wait consumes exactly one slot and returns the actual outcome, including a fault outcome. The adapter must keep a child retriable when wait fails. This `no_std` crate is a policy model. Kernel process table integration, actual INIT ownership and product acceptance require separate guest evidence.
